Tara Holloway and Ambre McLean hit the road for “Voices Of Fire” Ontario tourdates.
‘Voices of Fire’, a succinct way to describe two wild and beautiful singing voices. Unpredictable and even magical, this is what an evening with Ambre McLean and Tara Holloway means to an audience.
Described as, “..delivery and vocal styles (like) ear candy. This is the new sound of Canada rising, soulful, thoughtful, and reflective. ..soul’s music at its best, embodied in the two damn near perfect voices of Tara Holloway and Ambre McLean,” -this is a show not to be missed. To know what is really going on in Canada’s music scene, you MUST witness these 2 artists.

MOUNTIES ANNOUNCE SIGNING WITH VANCOUVER’S LIGHT ORGAN RECORDS & SIMKIN ARTIST MANAGEMENT, PREMIERE SECOND SINGLE
Weighing in at six-and-a-half minutes, Mounties is proud to reveal its new single “If This Dance Catches On” with the accompanying video premiering today exclusively at Exclaim.ca.
Featuring Hawksley Workman, Ryan Dahle, and Steve Bays—all of whom were doing very well already, thanks—the band first met at the 2009 Juno Awards, evolving from a group hug into a spectacular, improvised two week recording session three years later. In early 2013, the dream project yielded its first hit at Canadian Radio, “Headphones”. With early support locked from The Peak in Vancouver, further radio adds multiplied across the country. “Headphones” reached #9 at Alternative Radio and #12 at Modern Rock (BDS).
“A groovy iPod anthem for those plugged in and blissfully tuned out,” as the Globe and Mail put it, the casually brilliant single came with a funky, homemade video assembled by Bays himself: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TfNB-RtqEyY
He’s at it again with “If This Dance Catches On,” cutting together super-8 film footage shot by Hawksley’s grandfather. The viewer is left to ponder the space between Trudeau’s vintage Canada and the crashing, apocalyptic dance-pop of a new and weirder century.
Mounties have signed with Light Organ Records and Simkin Artist Management out of Vancouver, BC. Described as a “beautiful experiment” the indie label was established in 2010, and Mounties join the roster of The Zolas, The Matinee and Louise Burns amongst others.
Mounties will play select shows this fall – including a stop at Rifflandia, and a full record is expected to follow this fall. The multi-talented band produce, mix and master all their music themselves, based out of a triad of studios in downtown Vancouver filled with the kind of vintage gear. Their headquarters and “War Room” is an old Airstream parked just outside, containing three beach chairs. This might not seem important to you, but it is.
More details, including another feature single will be announced soon.
Adaline and Louise Burns will both be playing the Young Lions Music Club
/ Humble Empire
CMW day party.
